4.4 – Reaction to Ed Dixon Video\

Having just watched two segments of Ed Dixon’s Think Aloud, we will share our thoughts on how he used synchronous web conferencing to check for understanding.  This discussion will include all participants in the course. Please carefully read and follow the instructions below.

Part 1: Due before 11:59 pm on Friday, June 26

1. Click the “Reply” link at the bottom right of this message to create your response.
2. Change the Subject line of your response to something unique like “Bobby’s thoughts” so that all responses can be easily distinguished.
3. Write your posting as a narrative, i.e., in paragraph format.  Avoid copying the questions and providing simple answers.  We want to “see”‘ your thinking!  🙂
4. Use the following questions to guide your reaction:
   1. How does Ed check for understanding? (Think about the live experiences as well as the asynchronous activities.)
   2. Among those checks for understanding you listed, which was your favorite and why?
   3. Ed clearly devotes great time to working with each student.  Talk about your reaction to his use of live interviews.  

Part 2: Due before 11:59 pm on Saturday, June 27

Identify one or two postings whose ideas made you think differently about your reaction, or perhaps who offered similar ideas.  Share your thoughts by clicking on the reply link to “their” posting.
