Imagine you are traveling. You visit a country where you don’t speak the language (and you don’t have access to the Internet at this time). As you visit a restaurant or a store or the train station, you interact with people who don’t speak your language. What kinds of strategies do you and the person with whom you are interacting use in order to understand each other and accomplish the task? This activity will be completed in an online “chat room” here in Canvas. Please click on the button below that says “Load 3.2 Background knowledge activator in another window” and scroll to the bottom to find a rectangle where you can type your response. You are encouraged to reply to others as well–when you do, you will have to start your reply with the other person’s name.
