Between 1967 and 2014, Dr. Eissa has been engaged in teaching and research in the areas of Arabic language, literature, culture and Islamic studies at distinguished academic institutions (U of Chicago, U of Michigan, Northwestern University, UCLA, American University in Cairo and others). He has been actively engaged in innovative projects that aimed at promoting Arabic and Islamic studies with special interests in research and teachers’ professional development in the areas of applied methods/approaches to modern pedagogy and technology in foreign/second language teaching and learning. He serves as a Team Leader/Site Visitor in the STARTALK program with which he has been associated since its inception 2007.
